The Face Yoga Method

|| Does it act as natural skincare and facial rejuvenation? ||

Most of us think of yoga as either physical exercise of the body or just chilling in the easy pose of savasana (corpse pose). However, yoga, as a comprehensive life philosophy, is much more than just a simple workout. It connects the body and mind, strengthens the muscles and nervous system, increases flexibility and resilience, and simultaneously calms and focuses the mind.

What I heard, is that Yoga can also be considered a holistic beauty and self-care practice, with numerous anti-aging and stress relief benefits for the face. Frankly, not that much of a surprise when you see those absolute beauties of yogis in their late 50s with barely any signs of wrinkles or fatigue on their faces. I am still to experience this fully on myself 🙂

IN PURSUIT OF THAT PERFECT COMPLEXION, WE TRY EXPENSIVE CREAMS AND SO MUCH MORE.

Each morning, as we wake up and groggily make our way to the bathroom, we catch a glimpse of our face in the mirror. In pursuit of that perfect complexion, we often try expensive creams and search for age-defying techniques, with some even resorting to plastic surgery. Sadly, these methods don’t always reveal the true essence of who we are.

While exploring natural skincare alternatives, I stumbled upon Fumiko Takatsu, a fascinating lady with an intriguing idea: the Face Yoga Method. Fumiko developed Face Yoga as a non-surgical facelift option after experiencing a terrible car accident, which she was lucky to survive. Post-accident, her face appeared much older and asymmetrical. Just like most of us would have done, she tried various creams, lotions, and treatments in hopes of regaining her youthful appearance. All in vain.

One day, when looking at herself in the mirror, she had an epiphany: if she could exercise her body muscles, she should be able to do the same for her face. She gave it a go and after practising facial exercises for several weeks, people began to notice her results, commenting on her younger and more aligned appearance. And of course, super keen to learn how to tone their faces and reduce wrinkles, too.

FUMIKO DEVELOPED OVER 80 POSES, TARGETING EVERY AREA OF THE FACE.

If you visit her website and compare her photos at ages 36 and 51, you’ll be amazed by her transformation. Fumiko developed over 80 poses targeting every area of the face, explaining that there are approximately 50 muscles in the face that can be toned through exercises. Since these muscles are relatively small, recovery times are minimal, allowing skin rejuvenation results to be seen within days (believe it or not).

Her website offers various programs catering to different preferences, ensuring that you’ll find the one that suits you best. I decided to purchase her book and try the Face Yoga Method for myself as a natural skincare and anti-aging solution and I shall report back here as soon as I have some findings. To natural beauty and exploring new things.
